How to help?

This world is full of sin, suffering, and confusion. We all know people in need of help and hope, yet many Christians do not feel equipped to speak into difficult situations. It’s true that soul care can be daunting, but God’s Word has answers.

Training

Biblical Soul Care UK exists to teach Christians how to understand what God's Word has to say about the struggles people face in life. From addiction, anxiety, depression to marital conflict the Bible reveals the depths of God's grace so people can find help in the difficulties of life.

What is Biblical Counselling?

To Christians, the term counselling can have many unhelpful connotations. Biblical Counselling is simply the discipleship of God’s people under the oversight of the local church, dependent on the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word through the work of the Holy Spirit. The aim is to reorient disordered desires, affections, and behaviours toward God's design for man, in an effort to restore true worship of God and right fellowship with others. This is accomplished by speaking the truth in love and applying Scripture to the need of the moment by comforting the suffering and calling sinners to repentance, thus working to make them mature as they abide in Jesus Christ.

Certification

Biblical Soul Care UK works with the Association of Certified Biblical Counsellors (ACBC) to provide a comprehensive biblical counselling certification program which is rigorous, but attainable – to train and verify faithfulness to the Word of God in counselling.

Does it work?

With so many suffering people in the world whose problems seem insurmountable it is easy to think it's too much. Be encouraged from the story of Heath Lambert's testimony as he explains how the gospel of Jesus Christ saved him.
  • "I thought ACBC would give me a greater understanding of problems friends were having and to equip me to help. And it did. But firstly, God has used the reading and teaching to show me more of His character, the sufficiency of His Word, and the practicality and hope found in its pages. He has used it as a scalpel on my heart, whilst increasing my love for Him and my burden for others. If you’re saved and want to know and love God more, this is for you."

  • "After many years of pastoral ministry in several countries, I see a greater need to minister the Bible to those in need of God’s truth. ACBC effectively addresses this need by providing biblically-sound training and resources. I have personally benefited from ACBC’s certification process, and am privileged to be a part of a movement that is committed to equipping the Church with biblical solutions in a hurting world. I encourage Christians to prayerfully consider how God may want to use ACBC in their lives to help them become better equipped to help others."

  • "The resources which I've used from ACBC are excellent tools for better understanding and handling the Word of God, and applying it practically to the problems we face on a daily basis. They emphasise the hope believers have in Christ for change, through the help of the Holy Spirit."

  • "I completed the Phase 1 training during the summer of 2020. The course material was very helpful, being thoroughly based on the Scriptures. Watching the videos was a huge benefit as it reinforced the written material. The counselling sessions were very enlightening as I observed the whole counselling process in a variety of situations. This course is very worthwhile for anyone who desires to learn and see how the Word of God restores the soul."

    Paul Coxall Fernielea Gospel Hall

  • "I have found Biblical Counselling to be really insightful in giving a true perspective on the situations and challenges we all face in life, and how we can direct each other towards God, and His purposes. It has deepened my understanding of the fullness and reach of the gospel. I think this is a really useful course to equip those wanting to pursue counselling but also anyone involved in church leadership or pastoral care."
